Welcome

The Metropolitan Denver Interdisciplinary Committee is a non-profit organization founded in 1975 by mental health professionals, attorneys, and mediators working in the areas of parental responsibility.  Its purpose is to promote professions involved in helping children and parents through the process of divorce.

The MDIC focuses on parental responsibility and parenting time issues, including evaluations, mediation, arbitration, adjudication of family disputes and family reorganization.  It provides educational programs for attorneys, judges, mental health professionals, and mediators.  In addition to regular luncheon meetings, the MDIC also co-sponsors annual conferences with the Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association and special topic seminars in the community.

The MDIC has been successful in enabling professionals of various disciplines to work together effectively.  Among the MDIC's major priorities are actively exploring alternative mechanisms to resolve parental responsibility and related disputes and coordinating professional standards.  To this end, the MDIC has developed a set of guidelines for parental responsibility/parenting time evaluations and was intrumental in contributing to the current standards for Child and Family Investgations.  The MDIC also publishes an annual Membership Directory and Resource Guide.
